Hey Guys 🙂
As it is now the beginning of April I decided it was the perfect opportunity for me to do my first monthly favourites. I don’t know if I’ll do this at the end of every month, I suppose it all depends on whether or not I’ve something exciting to share with you all! Really I’m glad to see the back of March, April is probably my favourite month because it’s my birthday this month, we finish up lectures in college and the weather starts to slightly look up in Ireland. However, in saying all that, I did find some things in March that have become my “favourites” shall we say, and I’m excited to share them with you all! Also, they are listed in no particular order 🙂
1. Hair Care- L’oreal Elvive Nutri-gloss Shine Shampoo
As you may have seen in one of my previous posts, I use Mane ‘n’ Tail shampoo every second time I shampoo. It really nourishes my hair, but it can only be used every second shampoo because I feel it kind of loses it touch and nearly makes my hair look greasy if I use it every single time. You can read more about that shampoo here. On the days where I can’t use Mane ‘n’ Tail, I needed to find a shampoo that provided shine and silky softness to my hair. L’oreal Elive Nutri-gloss Shine Shampoo certainly did this, and I am so delighted I gave it a try. My hair genuinely feels softer and healthier, and at €2.54 it is an absolute steal!
2. Hair Care- Babyliss Big Hair
I got this styler as a gift around Christmas time and I literally hadn’t the foggiest idea how to use it. I kind of put it to one side for ages, but during March I finally pulled it out and figured out how to use it. I watched a YouTube tutorial on how to use it, and luckily found one that was really easy to understand because I am useless when it comes to doing complicated things with my hair. I will link the YouTube video I used below, and from watching it you will see that the girl uses two methods to give two different effects to her hair from the device. I personally preferred putting the styler underneath my strand of hair and turning the head of the device while moving it in a downwards motion. It gave me noticeable volume and, once I got the hang of it, my hair actually looked like it had been treated to a blow dry in my local salon. It was lovely, sleek and voluminous which is exactly what I was looking for. I think it works best if I let my hair dry naturally for a while beforehand but it is still remaining quite damp, because this device also drys your hair, but I wouldn’t use it with my hair completely wet as it would take forever.
3. Food- Dairymilk Lu Chocolate Bar
OH MY GOD! This is the best chocolate bar ever created! I really like Dairymilk chocolate in general, but I actually don’t buy chocolate that often because I usually prefer savory food over sweet. Well, that was until I found the Dairymilk Lu bar 😛 It is an amazing combination of Dairymilk milk chocolate and Lu biscuit. I kind of think the combination makes it taste slightly coconutty, but my brother thinks otherwise so if you’ve tried it please let me know your opinion on this matter haha! And if you havn’t tried it yet then your missing out 😉 Oh, and it is just divine when combined with a cup of hot sugary tea.
4. Make-up – Crownbrush UK 10 Color Concealer Palette
Crownbrush is a brand I had never actually heard of before until late last year. I don’t think anyone had in Ireland until the Irish Blogger Suzanne Jackson (So Sue Me) discovered them. I love how affordable this brand is, even though the quality of the products you receive are similar to a high-end expensive brand. I use the concealer palette as a concealer (obviously 😛 ), but also as a contouring kit, as Suzanne uses it for. She has a great video on her YouTube channel on how to contour using the palette so if you’re thinking about getting the palette I highly recommend checking that out here. The concealers have a fantastic creamy consistency and last all day on my skin, which is oily to combination skin. There’s plenty of variation in colours within the palette so it suits every skin tone, and it only cost me €27 including postage and packaging, but it’s even cheaper than that if you live in the UK.
5. Song- Summer- Calvin Harris
*Sings to self* “When I met you in the summmmer, to my heartbeat sound”…ehem..sorry I just cannot get this song out of my head! There’s no official video for this yet but I look forward to when it’s released, which is soon because Calvin Harris tweeted about it yesterday. It is just such a feel-good track and has me really looking forward to the summer months and warmer weather (not in Ireland because that dosn’t really happen, but hopefully on holidays in Spain at some stage). It is also a great tune to get ready to when your going out and it really gets me in the mood for a night out with my friends. Check it out if you havn’t already 🙂

6. Bedroom Interior- Yankee Candle in Lovely Kiku
I’ve recently done up my room so I needed to find the perfect candle to fit in it. I went to the Yankee Candle shop and spent a good half an hour there with one of my friends just sniffing all the different candles (sad lives I know 😛 ) in search of the perfect scent. Lovely Kiku definitely was that perfect scent and it has been constantly burning in my room ever since. It is a gorgeous girly floral scent, but it is also quite tropical which I thought was a nice twist. If you are a candle fanatic, like myself, and love fresh scents then this is the product for you 🙂
7. Song- Mmm Yeah – Austin Mahone ft Pitbull
Before this song I didn’t really know who Austin Mahone was, I had heard the name before but I didn’t realise how talented he was! At only 17 years of age he is making waves in the music industry, and with Pitbull collaborating with him on this track it is bound to be a hit. It is so catchy and just makes me want to get up and dance, I also love Austin’s voice. Plus his dancing in the music video is great! There is news circulating around the internet today that Austin is currently making new music with Justin Bieber, due to a picture of the two guys with Birdman and Mack Maine on Justin’s Instagram. I do hope this rumor is true because I enjoy a lot of Justin’s recent music, however I do hope Austin is careful and isn’t led down the wrong track by Bieber, who hasn’t exactly been on the right track lately, as he is very young. Don’t get me wrong I like Justin, I just don’t like many of the decisions he has made lately.

8. Make-up – Benefit They’re Real! Mascara
I have had this mascara for a good while now but it has still remained my favourite throughout March. I love how the brush is quite spikey so it really gets a good grip on your lashes. The first time I wore this I was asked not once but TWICE was I wearing fake eye lashes, which of course made me feel like a million dollars when I could flutter my eyelashes and respond “oh no these are my natural lashes” 😛 I have never experienced clumps with this mascara either as the tube tends to catch them before the brush even comes out, and the jet black colour is just perfect for a dramatic smokey eye. I don’t tend to wear this with a naked eye, I usually just wear one of my Rimmel or Maybelline daytime mascaras then, however I religiously wear it whenever I have eye make-up on and on nights out. It cost me €26 at my nearest Benefit counter, and although that seems quite expensive for mascara it is so worth it, and it lasts forever! I would be lost without it 🙂
So that was my March Favourites, I hope you guys enjoyed having a look at them! Do you have any of the same favourites as me or are you planning on trying any of my favourites? Thanks for reading ❤
